At Priority4, we take your privacy seriously. This Privacy Policy outlines how we collect, use, and disclose personal information across our software suite — including the Priority4 station/admin platform and the Priority4 Go responder mobile app — together with our website at priority4.com. By using our services, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.
01Information we collect
Personal information
We collect personal information to enhance your experience with our services. The types of information we may collect include:
- Contact information: name, email address, and phone number.
- Account information: firefighter ID, station, agency, and role permissions.
- Operational information: inventory records, inspection results, preplans, and other data you enter to operate your department.
- Location data (Priority4 Go only): on-call GPS location is sent during active incidents so dispatch and crew leadership can see responder positions. Location data is not collected outside of active calls.
- Log data: IP address, browser type, operating system, and the pages you visit before accessing our services.
- Device data: mobile device identifiers, push notification tokens, and user settings.
Cookies and web technologies
We may use cookies and similar technologies to track activity on our site. These help us analyze site traffic and enhance the user experience. You can adjust your browser settings to refuse cookies, though some features may not function properly without them.
02How we use your information
We use your information to:
- Provide and improve our services across Priority4 and Priority4 Go.
- Authenticate users across both apps using a shared account system.
- Send push notifications for incident dispatches in Priority4 Go.
- Respond to inquiries, feedback, or complaints.
- Analyze website and app usage to enhance functionality and performance.
03How we share your information
Third-party service providers
We may share personal information with third-party providers who help us operate our website and apps — including hosting providers, push notification services (OneSignal), and mapping providers (Google Maps in Priority4 Go). These providers are only given access to information necessary to perform their function and are contractually obligated to protect it.
Business transactions
In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction.
Legal obligations
We may disclose your personal information if required to do so by law or in response to valid requests by public authorities.
04Data retention
We retain personal information for as long as necessary to provide our services or comply with legal obligations. Operational data (inventory, inspections, preplans, SIR records) is retained for as long as your department maintains an active account, plus any period required by Ontario Fire Marshal or municipal record retention rules.
05Security
We take reasonable measures to protect your information from unauthorized access or disclosure, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), session-based authentication, and database isolation between agencies. However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
06Your choices
You can access, update, or correct your personal information by contacting us at notifications@priority4.com. You may also request the deletion of your personal data, subject to certain legal restrictions — see our Account & Data Deletion page for details.
07Updates to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page, and we encourage you to review the policy regularly.
